Green Ribbon Award - Adam Buckingham
Westprint was privileged to do a publication for the winner of the Green Ribbon Award, Adam Buckingham. The Green Ribbon Environmental Awards honour the exceptional contributions for people encouraging the protection of New Zealand’s environment. Adam Buckingham was a finalist and followed on to winning the award from his published book “Turning trash into treasure for young children.” The book includes encouragement of education for sustainable development used for the involvement of the wider community. Its main focus is aiding children in early stages of learning to connect with the natural world to create awareness for on the environmental responsibility. Not only has Adam developed a book to encourage the better learning of the young, but has also designed and created products in assistance of the message portrayed in the book. Adam used waste products to good use by deriving waste materials from the environment and creating tools for children to explore and learn with. Adam discovered that children are curious of natural objects and by changing the circumstance of the object it gives the ability of the child to take control of the experience.
